Laronnia's Story
Hi There,
I am currently employed with the State of Georgia, under Fulton County DFACS. This is my first full-time job...I have had it for 25 years. Although my degree is in Music, I am now a Case Manager (Social Worker.) I know, this has nothing to do with my degree. But, I needed a full-time job at the time, and this is it. I have three lovely children, two sons ages 27 and 20, and a daughter, age 15. My oldest son has a daughter, who just turned a year old in December. Being a grandmother is new for me! Well, if you know me, then you know that I have been a member of the same church, St. Mark AME, since before high school. There, I participate in the choir and on the courtesy guild. I have actually seen some of my classmates and schoolmates visiting at my church. I am always excited to see schoolmates..no matter where they are. You know, I'll just stop wherever and hold a quick conversation.
Let's see, in looking at the story ideas, one thing that might surprise my classmates is that I've been married, and divorced twice. No, I'm not bragging, things just happened (or didn't happen). My first husband was a fellow classmate, G...Expand for more
eorge Mosley. Although we've been divorced since 1983, we are now good friends. We were married for seven years. He and his current family are doing quite well. In fact, my oldest son, from my marriage to George, looks just like George. My second husband, well, he went to Douglass High. Should I have known something by that ? (smile) We were married for thirteen years. Maybe one day we will be good friends too. But until then...oh well.
As for being happy..I am most of the time. You see, I realize that tomorrow is not promised and today is a blessing. So, I try to make the most of each day. If it should be in the plans for me to find another mate, then I will. If not, then I won't. Either way, my life will be happy. I have also come to realize that my happiness is not dependent on anyone else!
I'd really love to see my classmates. I wish the best for all of you. I have seen some of you and you were not where you wanted to be in life. Stay encouraged. Remember, if you recognize me and I don't recognize you, please get my attention and refresh my memory. You know that OUR age, the memory is not always as sharp.
